OUR VALUES

Our Values are who we are

JESUS is our everything

We are Jesus people, not religious people. We are in love with Jesus because He is in love with us. His presence is our pursuit. There's no greater place to be than with Him and to receive His love. He is our focus, our aim, our goal, our agenda, our priority, our everything.

THE GOSPEL is our everything

The purpose of United Church is to share the hope of Jesus. The gospel means good news and we are called to take this good news to the world. We boldy and unapologetically preach the good news of Jesus with love and truth. Methods will come and go, but our message will remain the same.

THE BIBLE is our foundation

We build our lives on God's Word instead of culture's opinion. We do not bend the scriptures to match culture, we bend our lives to match the scriptures. We can take God at His Word. If He said it we believe it.

LOVE is how we are known

Jesus said the world would know us by our love. We are called to love everyone; friend, family, neighbor, and enemy. We are identified by our radical love.

PEOPLE are our passion

God cares passionately about people. The human being is of the highest value and worth in the eyes of our Creator, and so it is with us. Our heart is for ALL people. We make no apologies for being specifically focused on reaching those far from God. We desire to bring the broken home at all costs. In a world where people are often a means-to-an-end, we choose to see the person first.

FAITH is our culture

We believe that God today, is the same God in scripture. He still heals, He still provides, He still speaks, He still saves, He still does miracles. We have an expectation that God will show up. Our faith is contagious. If He said it, we believe it. We take Him at His word. Faith is the aroma in the room. Faith is our atmosphere.

HONOR is how we live

We are vocal with our honor, which means we are not stingy with our words. We submit to leadership and are thankful for spiritual authority. We choose to joyfully submit to those God has placed over us. We honor and care for those God has placed under us. We acknowledge that we are standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before us.

GENEROSITY is our privilege

If God gave us His best the least we can do is give our best. Generosity is about giving more than what is required. We see generosity as a privilege. We are Kingdom Builders. Expanding the Kingdom through giving. We're generous with our time, talents, and treasure. God has given richly towards us, it's our honor to give back to him. We'll never out give God.

EXCELLENCE is our spirit

We don't do things half way and half hearted. We are committed. We are intentional. We are going to make the most of what we have. We do everything to the best of our ability. We're on time, engaged and prepared. We recognize that our word carries weight and we follow through.

GRATITUDE is our attitude

We have grateful hearts. We are thankful for what God has done, what He's doing, and what He will do. We're thankful for each other. Gratitude is simply faith expressed. Thank you is on our lips constantly.

COMMUNITY is our focus

We ARE the church. It's not a building but a community of Jesus followers. Community is more than Sunday mornings. We focus on making community happen. Community isn't easy so we work for it. We were never meant to do life alone. We are better together. We are the family of God, the home for humanity.

GRACE is how we grow

We're all on a different part of the journey. We don't force or expect people to be on the same level we are. We do expect people to grow but we point them to Jesus and he helps them to grow. Grace gives room for the Holy Spirit to grow people in His timing. We’re about progression not perfection.

UNITY is our focus

We believe that nothing is stronger than a United Church centered on Christ. We believe that we have more in common than we don't. We may disagree on non-essentials but we are united on essentials. Division is not welcome. We're united in prayer, mission and vision. There's nothing the enemy is more afraid of than a united church. A united church is a picture of heaven.
